Philip is a Director in the commercial property team. Philip has a particular expertise in the development, letting, purchase and sale of retail and mixed use developments, representing both owners and occupiers. Philip enjoys acting for a diverse range of clients from international corporates to sole traders. In addition to his legal expertise Philip has a broad understanding of the practical and technical challenges facing his clients and delights in being regarded by all as an integral part of their team rather than as an external legal advisor.
Elspeth is a director in our corporate team. She is an experienced and astute commercial practitioner with a particular interest in company and business acquisitions and sales. Appreciated for her ability to make complicated matters straightforward for our clients, Elspeth always takes a practical and collaborative approach to deals, cutting through the issues to focus on the commercial imperatives and ensuring projects are completed with the minimum of fuss. Elspeth acts for our clients in all corporate and commercial matters, including joint ventures and shareholder arrangements, partnerships, corporate governance, share and asset sales and purchases, corporate due diligence and corporate finance. In addition, she assists in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts, including franchising arrangements, agency and distribution, IP and e-commerce contracts.
Mandy is a Director in our corporate team. She has extensive experience of both domestic and international work advising on mergers, acquisitions and disposals, re-organisations, joint ventures and equity fundraising for a variety of clients including corporates, financial institutions, entrepreneurs and management teams.
Mandy has a particular interest in equity based funding for companies in the venture capital market and acts for some of the UK’s most active business angels and venture capital funds.
Having enjoyed a successful secondment to the European legal team of an international bank, Mandy is able to advise borrowers and lenders in relation to acquisition and project finance, debt solutions and restructuring, securities and their enforcement, from both perspectives.
Laura is a Director in our property team and deals with commercial leasing for both landlord and tenant, the acquisition and disposal of commercial property and security work. Laura is a thorough, efficient and practical lawyer who enjoys devising solutions to allow our clients to achieve their goals, often within very challenging timescales.
Stephanie Christie-Carmichael is a private client solicitor with 20 years’ experience in dealing exclusively with Wills, trusts, succession & Inheritance Tax planning for high net worth individuals and their families and estate administration across Scotland and England. Stephanie also advises on Powers of Attorney, care of the elderly and adults with incapacity.
As well as being a current member of the Law Society of Scotland, Stephanie is also a Notary Public and a full member of STEP (The Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners), an internationally recognised association for private client professionals. Stephanie has also completed STEP diplomas in both Scottish and English Wills, Trusts and Estates as well as the STEP Advanced Certificate in Will Writing.
Stephanie is a regular contributor to Quality FM’s “Legal Matters” program and has written two books:
1. How to Settle an Estate in Scotland – a practical guide; and
2. A Practical Guide to Administering Estates and obtaining Probate in England & Wales

Gerry is an Associate Director in our property team. He has a wealth of experience from over 25 years in private practice in legal firms in the West of Scotland. In addition to the focus on residential property sales, purchases and re-mortgages for private individuals, Gerry has acted for a wide range of lenders, builders, registered Social landlords and investors in relation to the acquisition, disposal and development of larger property transactions.
Gerry also advises clients in relation to executry matters and regarding the Adults with Incapacity legislation. His calm and relaxed manner in handling business for clients helps to ease for them what can be a very stressful experience as they move home.
Lucy is an Associate in the Private Client team and has been a property solicitor for over 12 years.
She is a skilled property solicitor and has vast experience in complex property transactions dealing with all aspects of Residential Property and Commercial Development. She has been involved in the acquisition of development sites, the purchase of large property portfolios and rural and country estates.
Her knowledge and experience offers clients a high level of advice and service which she delivers in a friendly and straightforward manner.
Tom is an Associate in our litigation department.
Tom graduated from the University of Dundee in 2017 and completed his Diploma in Professional Practice at the University of Strathclyde in 2018. He undertook his traineeship at a busy Glasgow firm before qualifying in 2021. He joined Curle Stewart in November 2023.
Tom has experience in the Sheriff Court in civil and criminal matters and has regularly worked with Counsel in the Court of Session. He currently assists clients in a variety of litigation matters.
Cameron is a Solicitor in our Corporate Department.
Cameron graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2022, before completing the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice in 2023. He began his legal career with Curle Stewart in 2021, gaining early experience while still at university, and commenced his traineeship with the firm in 2023.
During his training, Cameron gained experience across a range of practice areas including civil litigation, commercial property, and corporate and commercial law. He has now qualified into our Corporate team, where he works on a variety of transactions including M&A work and commercial contracts.

Hannah is a trainee in the Private Client team.
Matthew is a trainee solicitor who graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2023. He is currently taking his seat in the Commercial Property Team.
Emily Joined Curle Stewart after graduating from her Diploma in 2024.
She is currently taking her seat in the Commercial Property Department.
Anna started out at Curle Stewart back in 2024 as a Legal Executive while continuing her studies at Glasgow University. Since graduating in 2025, she has returned to commence her traineeship and has a seat in the Commercial Property team.
Christie is in her 5th year at Strathclyde University studying Scots Law with Spanish LLB Hons. She joined Curle Stewart as a Legal Executive in June 2025 which has allowed her to gain exposure in a law practice. She is currently taking her seat in the Litigation Team.
Lisa has undertaken her role as Operations Support Coordinator, working closely with Honor our Operations Director to ensure operational effectiveness and will be using her experience in marketing and hospitality to streamline and deliver excellent client service and marketing projects within the business, something she has a great passion for.
